A not so passive life...

I’ve started a YouTube Channel…@ReikiRaven. Why, you ask? Well, let me tell you…
Five years ago I discovered Reiki and despite branching out to learn other energy healing modalities, Reiki is the one that has stuck with me. In large part this is because of the Eastern philosophy that is the foundation of Reiki and that foundation can be traced back to Buddhism.
When most people think of Reiki, they think of hands-on healing. It’s great that Reiki’s hands-on healing has become more mainstream. However, there’s more to Reiki than just this one aspect of it. With the “system of Reiki” you can practice a way of life that will help you achieve your greatest potential. So, for starters, that’s what I’d like to bring to my YouTube channel…educating those who tune-in of the other part of Reiki that is lesser known…an easy way to develop a way of life that leads to a person’s highest possible self. Also, this was one of Mikao Usui’s wishes: to bring Reiki to as many people as possible.
My next reason is due to reality…experiencing and accepting the now. Realizing I have less years ahead of me than behind me, this recent bout of pneumonia has made me much more interested in those remaining years. With that in mind, I’d like to leave something for my grandchildren. Although they are beautiful young adults, they haven’t begun to understand that there is a “path” of self-discovery awaiting them. When that realization dawns, I’m hoping that the small footprint I leave on YouTube might offer some guidance for them.
Throughout most of my life I’ve known “something” was missing. I’ve happily jumped out of my comfort zone, again and again, in search of it. This Reiki “path” seems to be that "something" for me. And with that knowledge, there’s so much more to learn and practice...which is what I hope to share on YouTube. I don't claim to be an expert on enlightenment (I wish!), but I'm hoping to share what I do learn (and know) in an easy way to understand.
