What is Reiki Lineage?
Reiki Lineage is like your family tree, except it traces your Master Teachers' line back to the original Master, Mikao Usui, founder of Usui Reiki Ryoho. Why is lineage important? Once you are Reiki attuned you have the ability to tap into the power of those masters who came before you. To me, it helps me identify more closely to my connection with Mikao Usui.

Mikao Usui,(15 August 1865 – 9 March 1926) or more commonly Usui Mikao in Japanese, was founder of the Usui Reiki Ryoho form of Reiki.
In 1922, Usui Mikao traveled to Kurama yama, a sacred mountain near Kyoto. He spent 21 days there fasting, and in deep meditation, in the hope of attaining the special state called Anshin Ritsumei (pronounced on-sheen dit-sue-may). This was a spiritual state of consciousness where one finds enlightenment. It is believed that from this state of being you will attain your life's purpose.
On the 21st day of meditation he was filled with an energetic vitality so miraculous and of such high frequency, he believed he had found the spiritual state of enlightenment. It was soon after this that Usui Mikao experienced an episode of self-healing and realized his life's purpose was to heal and show others how to heal. From there, Usui Mikao went on to teach what he would eventually name Usui Reiki Ryoho (the Usui Reiki Healing Method).
"Usui Sensei's philosophy was simple. Human beings are basically made happy and healthy. Illness and unhappiness occur when we are not resonating with Reiki due to many factors. When our inner Reiki and the Reiki in the Universe resonate, we will regain happiness and health. Healing occurs when our inner Reiki resonates with the Reiki in the Universe. Anshin Ritsumei is an ultimate result of Reiki resonance with inner-self and the Universe. The origin of Usui Reiki Ryoho is to start a Reiki journey with the hand placement treatment, improve our resonance with Reiki every day, and reach Anshin Ritsumei.
